Manhattan NY: A new Indian casino is moving to Wall and Broad streets in lower Manhattan. It seems fitting that a tribe of the Wappinger Confederacy Indians should return to this place. In 1626 these Indian's sold Manhattan Island to the Dutch for 60 Guilders ($24.00) in beads and trinkets.

The Minuit Lodge and Pub will be located in close proximity to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). A spokes-Indian for the casino said "that with all that gambling going on down the street, we will be right at home"!

The idea came about from retirement councilors who always cite, "if the Indians who sold Manhattan Island had invested the $24.00 at 8% compound interest, they would be worth $30 Trillion today. The NYSE is estimated to be capitalized at a value of $15 Trillion. The spokes-Indian was quoted as saying" at least we have a shot at getting half our money back!"

After a hard day on the NYSE trading floor investment brokers and commodity traders can wander down the street to the casino to spend their wampum, getting scalped and oiled at the same time. There is a power lunch menu that includes three free Martinis with every entree. Take out orders will not be available!

What about potential NASDAQ broker and commodity trader customers? (NASDAQ has no physical trading floor, trading is executed through NASDAQ's sophisticated computer and telecommunications network.) The same spokes-Indian replied "the tribe is hedging its bet, as NASDAQ could be the other $15 Trillion market, by installing on line gambling devices that will interface with NASDAQ computers only after the closing bell!" She added "we haven't quite figured out the pub aspect of this enterprise, as yet!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
