For the third time now in consecutive off season elections traditionally Republican districts have voted for Democrats. Political commentators are reading in these tea leaves a disastrous fall for the GOP in the Fall elections.
In Mississippi, a state who has not had a claim to fame since William Faulkner decimated its false nobility in his Nobel prize winning writings, a traditionally Republican district went straight Democrat in yesterday's voting.
The state that seems only good for its long name as a timing device in touch football (One Mississippi...) decided that the pro-gun, fetus loving, prayer in the schools Democrat was preferable to the Second amendment defending, anti-abortion unity of church and state Republican. Mississippians have always been known for their discriminating perspectives.
