Miami, Florida (IPP) - It is widely known that Americans are getting on the green bandwagon via their choice of cars, how they landscape their yards and their roof tops.

The green trend has now become more personal as people are wearing hats with plants growing out of them and boots that also double as planters.

The new green fashion trend sometimes leads to conflicts. One man was recently mistaken for a lemon tree in downtown Miami. He was waiting to cross an intersection while wearing a lemon tree attached to his belt. A couple of pedestrians walked up to him and pulled on his lemons and a fight was narrowly averted thanks to a police officer walking his beat in the area.

Folks eager to get in on the green fun need to be aware of potential problems that can arise suddenly. Wearing flowers can attract bees and other insects. Unfortunately a couple of youngsters were recently arrested for wearing a pot plant to school. People wearing plants should stay away from landscape crews wielding chain saws.

There are many positive aspects to wearing live plants. Plants produce oxygen and shade. Plants also help to lower the temperature and they contribute moisture to the rain cycle.

The armed forces have become interested in the wearing of plants. The Army is looking into the camouflage aspects of wearing plants and the Navy is deciding on which type of kelp and other underwater plants would be compatible with it Seal units.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
