An internet pirate lying in wait for his next victim

District of Columbia (Shivermetimbers, arrgh, Post) - The US House of Representatives took up the important business of what not to do about internet pirating this week.

Excluding currency fluctuations versus the Canadian dollar and jobs lost due to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), internet piracy costs the US economy an estimated 7 billion dollars each year in lost revenues.

"Just try and wrap your head around that for a minute," said Congressional aide Stumpy McMaster. "Eventually those revenues could be recovered by salvage teams, but for now they are lost."

A vote is expected by the end of the week, at which time Congress will turn its attention to less important issues like what not to do about the nation's porous borders and unregulated cargo onboard ships and aircraft.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
