Corrupt Bastard Don Young probed over graft allegations in Minneapolis

Washington DC - (Ass Mess): Alaska's Representative Don Young, who is under investigation for taking campaign $$$s in return for securing $10 million for construction of a proposed Florida highway ramp, is also being probed by FBI sources about the financing of the ill-fated I-35 highway bridge in Minneapolis that collapsed killing 8 earlier this month.

Young has long been suspected of Corrupt Bastards Club membership which the Feds have been smashing to bits in a series of spectacular raids during the last 12 months.

His participation in the controversial Florida funding, which planned paying for a study of the potential highway interchange abutting environmentally sensitive land, has been slammed in the US media after slipping by stealth into a huge 2005 Transportation Department bill.

"We think he got the confidence to involve himself in this chicanery after successfully covering up his involvement with inept constructors responsible for the 1967 construction of the Minneapolis I-35 bridge," Federal sources claimed today.

The Florida project has been claimed to be one of a number of congressional "earmarks" for specific pet projects.

These have attracted the attention of the US Department of Justice as well as FBI investigators probing exactly the same bribery and corruption practices on Capitol Hill as in Alaska, where VECO's ex-CEO and his deputy have plea-bargained their way to grassing up current and former state legislators in a graft scandal of massive proportions.

"This investigation is moving fast as we speak," FBI sources said today in response to press questions about jailed DC lobbyist Jack Abramoff's role in the peddling of favors and influence that has criss-crossed the Don Young inquiry into oil industry and construction sector graft.

Young acted as House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chair between 2000 to 2006, during which time earmarks worth up to $100 million were added regularly to
transportation spending bills.

Abramoff's role in lobbying for these is becoming more and more evident every day according to top DC sources this weekend.

More details on Young and shoddy work practices behind the 1967 graft scams of the Minneapolis I-35 bridge construction are expected early next week.
