"Safety First" is getting more complicated than ever. The number of law suits has sky-rocketed as the American public stumbled upon more unusual, unpredictable and generally brainless ways to cause themselves bodily injury. As a result national parks are forced to ban additional activities.
The large number of banned activities precludes the possibility of writing out the laws, so park rangers have resorted to picture/symbol signs. The new signs block out less of the scenic view and are possibly understandable to the non-reading public.
"The parks are here for public recreation, but we must maintain order and keep people safe," comments ranger Eric Parker. "There are still plenty of fun activities available, breathing and sleeping for example. We hope campers will enjoy their stay."
