Washington, DC - President Bush publicly denounced torture soon after wrapping up a political brunch with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi which involved heavy negotiations regarding a number of pending bills, including the controversial "No Child Left In School" bill.
Speaking in a post-brunch press conference, the President said, "I didn't realize how bad it could be to be stuck in a painful situation from which there was no escape, and this brunch taught me that. Torture is bad."
Speaker Pelosi, for her part, claimed the brunch was instructive and fruitful, and said, "I didn't realize how fun it could be to have someone you dislike in a painful situation from which there is no escape, and this brunch taught me that. Torture is great!"
