In a bold attempt to further increase his chances in his bid for the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nominations, Senator Barack Obama announced plans to change his name in time for the first presidential primary.
"Let's face it", said a spokesman for Senator Obama at a news conference in Washington, D.C. yesterday, "Most Americans may find it difficult to vote for a candidate named Barack. We believe the name recognition issue far out weighs the race issue in this election".
The ambitious Senator Obama hope the name change will occur some time next month and wants to appear on the first presidential primary as Whitey Obama.
In a related story, Democratic front runner Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton trying to hold on to her slim lead in the polls has announced plans to change her first name to Bill.
