Washington, D.C. John Bolton, former national security adviser to President Donald Trump, today acknowledged that The Spoof had it right when, several weeks ago, it reported that the president had offered to sell to his Ukrainian counterpart, President Zelensky, some marijuana.
"The whole Ukrainian negotiation, involving the so-called 'gang of three,' the president's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, and numerous ambassadors, was nothing but a drug deal. It went sour because so many people were involved. Had Trump done it by himself, he could have pulled it off."
Bolton noted that "When The Spoof literally translated 'quid pro quo' as 'I'll give you 100 pence for an ounce of marijuana' the satirical news website had it right. All that hullabaloo about holding up military aid to Ukraine was just a cover to hide the real intent to sell Zelensky marijuana."
