Washington DC - (Rotters): A sixty-something sex offender has shocked the nation by posing as the President of the United States.
Officials say that the convicted perv "shaved his body hair, covered his stubble with make-up and took a new name" to become Leader of the Free World in November 2000.
But the smooth-talking con was eventually outed after some of his victims recognised him on US primetime TV and phoned the Feds to complain about the deception.
And now FBI files confirm that the perv had changed his surname back in the 1960s to a popular Republican family name and began blending in with the local political coterie in Texas without too many people noticing the difference.
The Department of Homeland Insecurity has now become involved after the FBI requested additional help to trawl through the perv's email traffic in a bid to establish just how many hapless American youngsters may have been 'groomed' by the impostor's sweet-talk over the internet.
"It was bound to happen sooner or later", said a police source. "We always had our suspicions here in Vermont, of course, but couldn't nail the *!**!er without some corroborating evidence."
