Long after being sentenced to an eternity of rolling a boulder up a hill only for it to roll back down again when it nears the top, mythical Greek figure Sisyphus says that he has finally learned to let go of his attachment to any particular outcome and instead to simply enjoy the process.
"Attitude is everything," said Sisyphus, formerly a murderous king whose grandiosity and deceitfulness ultimately earned him the sentence he is currently serving in Hades. "I used to whine and gripe about having to deal with the same ole, same ole all the time. But now I really get into the physicality of it. Not only is it great cardio, but it's also serious resistance training."
He smiled and added, "And it's a killer view from the top of the hill. Those moments of beauty, you know? They're fleeting, but they're precious. They're everything, really."
According to the debunked dictator, it was hearing the Bob Dylan song "Everybody Must Get Stoned" that really helped him turn a corner regarding how he perceived his own destiny. "That song made me realize we've all got something. This is just my thing. So be it."
These days, you'll not only see Sisyphean rolling his signature boulder; you're also apt to catch him rocking out. He's created a playlist of songs relating to stones, rocks, and boulders, which he listens to while he hones in on the task at hand - or at hill, if you will.
"I always close out with the Dylan tune, though," said Sisyphus. "It's a classic."
