Dismissing accusations of being self-absorbed and grandiose, comedian Russell Hargrave explained that he has no trouble laughing at himself – and in fact, does so a lot.
“My humor is a little too high-level for some people to appreciate,” stated Hargrave. “But I not only get all my own jokes, I find them incredibly hilarious.”
He added, “It takes quality to know quality.”
In fact, Hargrave considers it a good sign when his jokes leave some of his lower-brow acquaintances cold. He's confident that they'll eventually come to recognize his brilliance – and feel humiliated for not having identified it earlier.
“Geniuses are rarely appreciated in their own time,” he noted. “They're also rarely this handsome! Or cut," he added, with a glance at his own impeccably-toned abdomen.
“The point is, who's laughing now?" he asked rhetorically. “Me! And that's really all the matters.”
