Mobile, Alabama - Republican voters, politicians and commentators in Alabama and across the country are stunned and disappointed by the Washington Post story detailing possible sexual abuse by Senate candidate Roy Moore of a young teenager 40 years ago.
Sadly, the notoriety created by the leftist media has drawn attention away from an otherwise accomplished, thoughtful, intelligent man who seemed well on his way to helping a united nation move forward into the new millennium.
It was Moore, recalled one observer, who correctly pointed out that Sharia Law was being followed by a large American city. "Who else but Roy Moore will help us to locate where that city is?", said the voter.
"Who will lead the Birther movement after the loss of the good Judge Moore", said another dismayed follower.
The efforts to require worship of Protestant Christianity by all citizens in order to stop terrorist attacks like 9/11, to forbid the practice of homosexuality, to stop the damaging outbreak of climate science hoaxes, and other noble pursuits seemed destined to falter after the personal attacks by the mainstream media overshadowed Moore's notable achievements.
"Reds, Yellows, Blacks and Whites can all benefit from the teachings of this great man, that's the sad thing", said another citizen. "His appeal reached across the partisan divide".
