Madrid, Spain - Constantino, world renowned footballer for champion club Real Madrid, has inexplicably sustained an actual leg injury, sources at the team revealed yesterday, after what appeared to be his customary routine when tackled by an opponent. He is expected to miss 3-4 weeks at a minimum.
The 27 year old went down in distress after being aggressively stripped of the ball by Joachim Schweinhund of Borussia Dortmund in a Champions League quarterfinal last night in Madrid. As is often the case when Constantino, or for that matter most European stars, are seemingly fouled, he rolled around the pitch holding his lower leg screaming in pain, successfully drawing a yellow card for his opponent from the official.
For good measure, Real Madrid handlers brought out the stretcher after Constantino had finished with his yelling and attempts at standing, again as is often the practice, while teammates shook their fists and pleaded for the red card. Nothing seemed unusual until the superstar failed to return for the second half, indicating that an actual leg injury had occurred.
Constantino is expected to miss the semifinal match against Arsenal next week.
