Oprah has a new project

The 2016 presidential election outcome shocked Oprah Winfrey as it shocked many others. However, after Trump announced his cabinet appointments, Oprah got busy.

Oprah began creating a "spare" U.S. government on the off-chance the incoming administration broke the current one beyond repair.

The popular culture icon spoke about her unusual plan:

"I wanted to start a project to give anyone who has a long-term belief in our democratic government a chance make a positive contribution.

Many skilled and committed government employees will likely lose their jobs as soon as Trump takes office. I'm offering them employment.

This looked like an impossible task at first, but actually the project is going remarkably well so far.

I'm calling it "Keep-A-Candle-Burning-America".

We all need hope right now and to commit to something positive."

Oprah is well positioned to tackle this assignment. She starts with her own solid base of international popularity, a media network, buckets of money, and extensive property.

Rumor has it Warren Buffett and Mark Cuban are providing financial support and guidance, and Hillary Clinton is advising on government structure.

The goal is to keep a structural record of all existing departments with enough agency knowledge intact to restart them later, if needed, at some point in the future.

President Elect Donald Trump tweeted when he heard the news.

"Oprah used to be a big star. She's just a has-been now. Nobody cares what she's doing. Sad."

Oprah did not seem deterred when she was told. She laughed.

"Yes, that sounds like him. We've heard it all before."

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
