Congress voted yesterday to cut funding for a study looking into how money and campaign donations influence politicians.
Senator John McCain explained the reasoning behind the decision, "We believe this study is not in our best interest- I mean the American people's best interest. We all know that government studies are often lengthy and expensive so we thought the money could be put to better use on more bombs or weapons.
"Besides I think most American people know that Congressmen aren't influenced at all by donors or corporations. Now if you excuse me, the CEO of Coca-Cola is calling me, I have to go."
In unrelated news, congress is scheduled to vote tomorrow on a bill to allow coca-cola to replace all public drinking fountains in DC with coca-cola vending machines.
