ANTALYA, Turkey - President Barack Obama pledged Sunday to redouble U.S. efforts to eliminate the Islamic State group and end the Syrian civil war that has fueled its rise, denouncing the extremist group's horrifying terror spree in Paris as "an attack on the civilized world."
Opening two days of talks with world leaders in Turkey, Obama pledged to send an additional 50 troops to Syria, bringing the total US force to 100.
The additional cost for these 50 troops will be $1.5 trillion, doubling the cost for the fight against ISIS to $3 trillion. Mr. Obama will issue an Executive Order next week, mandating that America's top earners pay for the war on ISIS.
