A Gulf War veteran has lost his job after having to take the day off work to babysit his children, who had the day off from school due to schools being closed to celebrate...Veteran's Day.
"Did I have a good Veteran's Day? Not really...as a real veteran I am slightly annoyed that the banks were closed, there was no mail and the kids were off school," explained Doug Smith, as he stared blankly into space.
"I had to take the day off work, and because of that I was fired. Wouldn't it have been be better if kids went to school and spent the day learning why we have veterans and how we could possibly prevent wars...rather than sit at home all day....bored...playing Call of Duty on their XBoxes or whatever the fuck those things are called?" aid the angry hero.
"Why was the library closed? What about all the veterans who wanted to read a book on Veteran's Day ? Bullshit. Pisses me off. 'Happy Veterans Day' - there is nothing "happy" about PTSD, limbless young men, death and having to fight wars - unless you are a mailman, banker, teacher or work for the Government who sent me to war.....then you can spend the day at the fucking beach."
