'Mercia is making moves to provide its citizens with basic healthcare access and the people could not be more pragmatic and untrusting if they tried.
They are greeting this olive branch of social justice with the same trepidation as you would being the sole invitee to a tea party with Putin and Ted Bundy co-hosting the event with a musical appearance by a sober Ke$ha.
Seven million Americans have RSVP'd, "fuck off" to this tea party and have signed up to Obamacare as of today.
I will give you the basic jiist of the "Affordable Care Act" which has been altered dreadfully after it has been sluggishly dragged through the Senate and faced enormous criticism.
Insurers will no longer be able to reject people based on medical conditions that a person might have or charge higher rates. (Let me explain, in America; one must pay to be healthy- you can't pay, fuck you go home to your socialist regime and don't touch anything on your way out).
Old people can no longer be charged extortionate amounts for their insurance and health plans will no longer be able to impose an annual or lifetime cap on coverage.
No socialism to speak of so far right?
All seems pretty legit.

As a result of this strange notion of looking after old people, younger people are required to have health insurance or face a penalty.
The resulting cost being about $100 per month. This is where the 'Mercian spirit begins to wither.
Penalties of not having health insurance is $95 per person per an-um. That's it.
If you don't have health insurance through your employer-most people in America do as its usually included in your work payment package- or you are self-employed or even dare I say it unemployed you likely eligible to receive a subsidy to help reduce premiums.
However, to qualify for these subsidies you have to buy the health plan that your particular state provides.
In essence you are still paying for health insurance so don't worry 'Merica, you aren't blindly being kind or just or even may I be so bold as to say 'socially apathetic' for no reason, but you are paying at a lesser rate because in most cases it is what you can afford (9.5% annual household income to be exact).
Henceforth the, "Affordable Healthcare Act" was named.
Right-winged outlets have dubbed the bill, "Obamacare". As if to poke fun of or gesture that individuals are gaining some form of "free-ride"….. Nobody is getting a free ride. Except elderly veterans. I think we can let them slide Fox.
In absolute Lehman's terms all "Obamacare" is doing is making young people pay for old people to live longer. Is that so bad?
