(Oxford, Oh) Miami University will be opening up three additional campuses in 2007, according to Dean of Student Relations, God Shamgod. "These campuses will be relatively small, compared to the main campus," Shamgod said. "But they will feature the latest in dining room cuisine and futuristic dorm rooms."
The three new locations are Beiruit, Lebanon, Trenton, N.J. and Springfield, Oh. Each campus will house approximately 3000 students and tuition will be free to residents within a 90-mile radius.
"The free tuition was my idea," Shamgod said. "I'm hoping we'll get a lot of donations from the local communties, especially the campus in Lebanon."
The idea has received mixed reviews from local leaders. Springfield Mayor Andy Ayers said, "I don't like the idea at all. Jeepers, the next thing you know, they'll try to move Millett Hall to downtown Springfield."
