Wilbert Flannery was accused by his family of killing his grandmother so he could inherit her house and money she had hid around the house.

After the Williamsburg, Alabama resident was taken in by police, they had to let him go because of lack of evidence.

"I was always Granny's favorite and she wanted me to have all her stuff cause she liked me. That bunch of heatherns don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

Flannery stated that he had helped his grandmother to "Kick the habit" of taking so many drugs.

"I been on a lot of drugs myself and I knew what they was doing to her. She thanked me right before she keeled over!"

That's what killed her according Regina Flener, a cousin of Wilbert.

"The doctor had her on all this medicine and he talked her into quit taking them."

Flannery stated that he told his granny to go "Cold Turkey" just like he did and she could get off them pills.

"And she did it too. Had us a big party for two weeks till she turned up her hills. She sure nuff was a cold old turkey then!"
