BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - State Senator Howie Du Croissant [R-Shreveport] has just informed the news media that the state has decided to honor the Robertson family, stars of the hit A&E television show Duck Dynasty.
Senator Du Croissant stated that the great state of Louisiana is the birthplace of such noted individuals as Britney Spears, Harry Connick Jr., Terry Bradshaw, Tyler Perry, and the Manning brothers, Peyton and Eli.
He remarked that the Louisiana Senate, in a unanimous vote, agreed to name Phil Robertson's family as its 2013 Louisiana Family of The Year.
Senator Du Croissant noted that even one unnamed senator who is gay went along with the decision to honor the Robertson's.
The family will be the honored guests of the governor at a Governor's Mansion Creole Dinner on January 11, 2014.
Music will be provided by Cajun Cal & The Bayou Swamp Dwellers. Lake Charles Comedian Zydeco Dupree will also perform as well as be the evening's master of ceremonies.
The following week The Robertson family will ride on a Duck Dynasty float in The Annual Lake Charles Tabasco Sauce Drinking Festival Parade.
