BOSTON - The owner of the New England Patriots Robert Kraft has stated that his trip to Russia was not exactly a pleasant one.
The Pats owner told Zorro La Bamba with The Sports Bet Gazette that as he and President Putin were having dinner at Moscow's exquisite Russian Sombrero Mexican Restaurant Putin suddenly admired his Super Bowl ring.
Kraft took it off his finger and told Putin to go ahead and try it on. Putin did and he said that it looked great. He then smiled and told the football mogul "No backs."
"I don't think so." Kraft remarked.
Just then Putin's chief body guard told Kraft that President Putin thanked him for the nice gift and that he would be receiving 10 cases of Russia's best vodka as a gesture of goodwill.
Kraft insisted that he return the ring to him. Putin stood up and told him that he had some pressing matters to attend to regarding Portugal and that three of his personal bodyguards would escort him to the airport.
When Putin was asked by The Sports Bet Gazette about the Super Bowl ring he angrily replied, "I do not have the ring. And besides, what the heck would I want with a Super Bowl ring?
SIDENOTE: According to an inside source who would not reveal his name for fear of getting shot, the 4.93 carat ring is reportedly sitting on Putin's bedroom dresser next to his Tony Parker autographed basketball.
