Groom Lake, Nevada - The flashing space rock that lit up the skies from Florida to New England yesterday probably wasn't a meteor, a NASA source at the Agency's Area 51 HQ said today as samples of, er, space effluvia were being studied.
"Most likely it's some form of presidential blue ice," a Jet Convulsion Laboratory technician commented, "composed of 50% methane and 50% assorted falafel/tabouleh/matzo meal derivatives following the President's trip to the Holy Land."
The presidential runabout was seen re-entering US airspace moments before the 'shooting star' anomaly soared across the East Coast depositing a swath of organic debris across crucial GOP swing states.
Last month a much larger chunk of suspected blue ice performed a lap of honor over Southern Russia states where its impact included injuries to some 1,000 residents.
Tests subsequently confirmed extraterrestrial origins of the 'meatier' [sic] with a high organic content 'typical of alien digestive systems'.
