The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that the country is awash in wingless chicken bodies.
"Everybody loves chicken wings, but they forget we have to do something with the rest of the chicken," said USDA spokesperson Wendeee Calpido.
"For awhile we gave them to soup kitchens, but everybody there is sick of chicken soup. They want chicken wings," she said wistfully.
Calpido said one possibility is using the chickens to fuel electrical generating plants.
"But you know what happens. Everyone who lives near the plant smells cooked chicken and runs out and buys more chicken wings. It's a real dilemma."
