Shortly after the presidential debate on Thursday, William H. Thorndike, adviser to the president, admits he was shocked when he overheard President Obama state, "Hey, I like what the guy said, he made sense to me, Romney has got my vote, I only hope I can talk Michelle into voting for him he has really got it together. Can black folks get in that Mormon church, do you have to be a citizen?"
Thorndike, later at Saint Marks Hospital in Denver, further stated that it was the altitude that was playing pranks on his mind, and he thinks perhaps he dreamed Obama made that statement.
He further admitted that he did have the statement on tape, but in reviewing the statement, he felt the altitude did some "strange" things to his tape recorder.
After his release from Saint Marks, Thorndike admitted he was leaving politics and was considering originating a Ponzi Scheme in the Miami Florida area. "I want to put what I have learned while being in politics to good use, and this seems to be it."
