Pontius Pilate, the man best known for sentencing Jesus to his death, is set to be Canonised later this month.
The move comes after a heavy influx of reprehensible, high profile beings in the last 10 years. People like Jordan, Sarah Palin and Piers Moron's meteoric rises to fame and fortune has shown the world that abhorrent, self-righteous, but ultimately ignorant people are far worse human being than the much maligned Prefect of Judea.
A Vatican spokesman said "Okay, for two Millenia we thought that Pilate was really bad for presiding over Jesus' trial and his resulting execution. But you know what, things have really been put into perspective since we've been subjected to that Piers Moron show on CNN. His self-gratifying smugness and sense of righteousness, far superceeds anything Pilate did. That's why by canonising Pilate we can maybe raise awareness to these pointless "celebrated" people."
The some have criticised the Vatican's measures saying they simply don't go far enough. Tom Coolridge, an ex-pat in Idaho said "I mean Piers Moron seems to have an awful lot of self-righteousness considering some of his newspaper's destroyed lives and put British soldiers at risk, due to their horrible levels of inaccuracies."
