DES MOINES - An email exchange between Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, and Matt Strawn, Iowa GOP chairman, leaked to the press on Friday revealed that the GOP frontrunner see-saw in Iowa has been orchestrated as an intentional strategy.
Dubbed the "Voldemort Initiative," the GOP manipulated the news cycle to give prominence to each of the seven candidates who have held frontrunner status. As Priebus put it in one email, "Obama cannot possibly endure in his battle against a GOP with seven strong souls."
The idea for the strategy apparently derived its inspiration from the final installments of the Harry Potter series, in which Lord Voldemort attempted to make himself invincible by separating his soul into seven "horcruxes."
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney could not contain his glee. "This is perfect," said Carney. "Lord Voldemort and the GOP: separated at birth!"
