Scooterville, the famous town in New Jersey (pop 250), has launched an unlikely bid for the 2030 Olympic games.
Famed for its tree house Post Office and home of a former jeopardy contestant, Scooterville claims it will start work on infrastructure, stadiums, housing, hotels, amenities, an international airport and running water as soon as its bid is accepted.
''We believe that Scooterville is an ideal location for the 2030 Olympic games, and as such we are submitting early, we have already hosted a very successful Man from UNCLE convention and the world dungaree championships'' boasted Mayor Tony Cockspur, a descendant of world famous inventor Larry Cockspur, who committed suicide in 1987 at the world famous Scooterville wild life park.
''We have already drawn up plans for a 200,000 seat athletics stadium, indoor arenas and other amenities'' said Cockspur.
The only stumbling block is funding.
''We need about $1billion to really get this project moving'' said local sheriff Adam Cockspur ''and we are working on that, we have already raised $3.77 from a yard sale held at Tommy Cockspur's mobile home''
If Scooterville does fail in its bid to host the Olympics it has a backup plan of hosting the 2048 Fifa World Cup.
