David Cameron made an address today to the Ethical Society on his favourite wishy-washy topic - 'the society'.
'There are some people in our society - our broken society - who are quite frankly sick' he announced 'we have to deal with such people firmly.'
But Cameron sought to differentiate between this group of 'undeserving sick' and those who should be given a 'second chance.'
'The second chance group' he said 'are those who have connections that are powerful enough to do me harm. I have been told I should have been more careful over selecting Andy Coulson to be my Communications Director at No 10, but I could keep an eye on him there and draw him away from the sick society hurting me.'
Then the Prime Minister turned on those who came from the 'only one chance group'. 'They can be turned into good and honest citizens' he declared 'but I have to give my supporters the pleasure of inflicting pain on them first.'
Many have compared the former Prime Minister Rev Tony Blair with David Cameron. 'I spoke to Tony yesterday' said Cameron 'he told me our approach would lead us to the Promised Land which he tells me can be found somewhere.'
