Broadcaster and historian David Starkey is being made to wait to learn if he is to take over from Ken Lucid at Maidenhead University.
Prof Lucid, the controversial head of history at Maidenhead, had only been in the job for a few months by the end of July when Hounslow University revealed they wanted him to take over there - snubbing Starkey in the process.
But Lucid has been unusually tight-lipped since Hounslow Vice-Chancellor Roger Exchequer revealed the offer to Colonel Juan News.
EIF News & Features spoke to Lucid's wife Eugenie - often referred to as The Empress by Lucid - when we met her in the supermarket yesterday: "Oh sorry dear, Ken's in his study and has asked not to be disturbed.
"He said something about 'having to do all this bleeding reading for reviews' before we go on holiday in a couple of weeks. He says he's spoken to Sir Roger about the Hounslow job and he'll announce his decision to the public when we get back from Dubrovnik."
Absolutely no effort whatsoever has been made to contact David Starkey.
