A Police helicopter that happened to be airborne in Oxfordshire was sent to deal with an incident of a 15 year old lad pulling the tail of a cat.
Owner, Marge Marks, phoned the police about her cat's tail being pulled by the youngster and the decision to send in the helicopter was made.
No arrests were made but the 15 year old had to apologise. A Police official defending the use of police resources in this way at a time of cutbacks said 'If we forget that pulling a cat's tail is cruel the country will descend in a downward spiral to anarchy!'
The lad's father said the whole incident was a farce. 'Next we will have people in prison for kicking football's through windows by mistake' he said.
Marge Marks praised the police for their prompt action. 'Belinda is nursing her tail and purrs softly on my lap when she hears a helicopter.'
The Cat Lovers Charity praised the police. Chairman Joshua Tabby claimed that 'stopping the suffering of a pussy was just as important as dealing with rape.'
