Park Lane, LONDON: Metropolitan Police report that West Ham Utd players showed more fighting 'spirit' at their end of season party, than they have all of the football season.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "We were called at 9.15pm to reports of a disturbance at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane. Officers attended. There were no offences alleged and no arrests."
According to reports, the trouble started when a striker Demba Ba allegedly refused to sign an autograph for a fan, saying that he was "too tired'', and his comments sparked a brawl, where tables and chairs were over turned.
Supporters were invited to the £275-a-head dinner, which was attended by players and executives. Unofficial Police quotes attributed to the event from an unnamed source.
