London - (End of Days): Violence tracing the January 4 solar eclipse's shadow path erupted in London yesterday afternoon.
Police said they fear recent tumultuous unrest in the Middle East has spread to London following a knife fight in Trafalgar Square.
Thursday's brawl left three men seriously injured as dozens joined the affray under the Square's famous bronze lions.
"It started with someone rubbishing Lord Nelson's war record," by-passer Mrs Molly Barkins told reporters, "right there under his very nose.
"I saw one of the men seize a harmless pigeon by the legs and smash it into some bloke's face. And then all hell was let loose."
Nineteen men were taken into custody as police cordoned off Trafalgar Square amid fears of an imminent Tahrir Square-like demo.
"Personally I blame too much television for this latest spat," the head of the Met's Riot Squad said today, "gives some folks ideas.
"Where's the tear gas and water canon division when you need them most?"
