Emergency services throughout the UK have been reporting a particularly busy day with exploding heads.
Most cases seem to be connected with an item of news featured in the papers and the TV news this morning.
"We've had dozens of cases here today," said a spokesman for a large hospital in Nottingham. "In each case the victims have been Daily Express or Daily Mail readers.
"Although they have obviously been upset, their relatives generally have been telling us that the last story the victims read was that convicts are about to get the vote."
The picture has been repeated all over the country, but reports have been particularly high in the south east.
The Government is faced with having to extend the franchise to serving convicts following a decision in the European Courts. To avoid multi-millions in claims, the Government is now considering how to apply the ruling.
