There were nervous glances all around TheSpoof.com newsroom this morning, when it was revealed that the site's resident homosexual writer Larry Sabu had an STD.
Sabu, 20, known to his 'associates' as Gay Larry, spoke about the STD last night, and said "I needed to call an uphill gardener I know in Manchester, but I couldn't remember the dialling code. I looked on Google, and discovered the STD was 0161. Simple as!"
Subscriber trunk dialling, or, as it was commonly known, (STD), is a term for a telephone system allowing subscribers to dial trunk calls without operator assistance.
This is possible by the insertion of a coded number prefix which denotes the area callers are dialling.
"For example," said Larry, "I had to dial 0161 before ringing Donny in Manchester to tell him I had got a couple of nasty new genital warts. And all this on top of my Herpes, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis and Syphilis!"
