Ship cruising's orf for you, George, just stick to cottaging as usual!

Southampton - (Splicing the Main Brace): A Cunard cruise veteran is warning that Monday's royal launch of the new Queen Elizabeth liner is hexed.

Seasoned Queen Mary 2 cruiser Capt Morse said in his blog today that an austerity ditching of a traditional champagne launch 'has a right royal RIP' written all over it.

The liner's Southampton send-off by the Queen comes despite spooky premonitions 'she might not make it'.

Cunard's decision to replace a Queen Mumm Fizz send off with a bottle of Chateau Rothschild Cunard Graves 2010 'has sounded a death knell' for the ship's maiden voyage.

"The clue is in the wine label," Captain M commented this afternoon.

"Graves may be a superior Bordeaux white wine associated with the Rothschild family vinery ownership," the wine buff continued.

"But in English 'graves' means burials as in death, RIP, internment, etc!"

A spokesperson for the shipping company laughed off the suggestion of a death knell involving the Queen, the Rothschild whining/banking family and a dynastic graveyard.

"Come hell or high water HM will be there on Monday and nothing can scupper the majestic send-off."

Cunard's Lusitania sank in 1915.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
