Alex Salmond, the Scottish First Minister confirmed today how he personally witnessed how ill Megrahi was before they let him loose.
Salmond the Scott equivalent of John Prescott said 'Megrahi looked well rough when I saw him in his cell.' He added, Megrahi was coughing and sweating as if he was on his last legs, oh and he had a bad rash on his neck.'
When it was pointed out the symptoms described were merely a cold Salmond shook his head and referred to the doctor's report. 'We consulted a local doctor who confirmed our thoughts about Mr Megrahi's terminal illness. He confirmed Megrahi probably had days to live pointing out he should not bother buying any lottery tickets!'
When asked where the doctor was from Salmond hesitated a little before confirming the Doctor, Mr Ali was from Glasgow, however was of Iranian descent.
