An artists impression of how Gately may appear.

Spirit medium, TV star and Professional Scouser, Derek Acorah will attempt to contact the late pop star, Stephen Gatley, for an ITV special to be aired next week.

A spokesman for ITV said; "It is exciting that Derek has agreed to be a part of this historic television event. We are hoping that this new format of show will become a twenty-first century version of, "An audience with..." There will also be musical numbers from Cheryl Cole and John Barrowman. I'd like to see The BBC's Holby City beat that!"

The show will be broadcast live before a studio audience that is set to contain all living-members of Boyzone.

Gately's former band member, Ronan Keating said, "I want to ask him what he thought of our latest album. I hope he liked it. I pray he doesn't turn round and say it was a load of sh**e. That would be awful."

Derek Acorah meanwhile has been keeping a relatively low profile. However, It has been reported that the Medium has recently been renting Boyzone books and biographies from his local library.

Acorah has claimed that this was for, "A reason completely unrelated to my show about Stephen next week."

If the show, called "Contact with Derek," is successful in the ratings, ITV intend to produce several other episodes with Michael Jackson, Hitler and Jeremy Beadle as the guests.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
