Ancient site discovered near Stonehenge

The discovery of a site near Stonehenge of great historical interest has excited all interested in the ancienct history of Britain.

Various theories are being put forward to explain what these new structures are all about.

Mystic Meg is certain they result from visitations by unknown people from Outer Space. She has been trying to get in touch with their spirits but has yet to shout Bingo.

Several archbishops are sure that they must have religious significance. A Temple of Sacrifice is a front runner. Currently a 2 to 1 bet.

The British Tourist Board sees the site as an ideal Visitors Centre, denied by Government cutbacks, but is worried about Health and Safety.

Portsmouth and Southampton Football clubs are in fierce competition for exclusive rights to the site for a new stadium.

But your correspondednt knows the mundane truth. It is just a few stones scattered by prehistoric giants tossing the caber. We are really all Scottish!
