Sharp eyed reporter Nick Robinson has shrugged off reports that he is comforting media star Cheryl Cole in her recovery from malaria.
Flicking an ant away that had descended to within 5 metres of Mr Robinson's aunt, who was in turn 10 metres away from him, Mr Robinson joked it was no secret that he and Mrs Cole were an item.
When challenged as to his whereabouts the previous evening, the UK's favourite political editor turned away from the questioner, ran 100 metres to a nearby paving stone and squashed a caterpillar that 'was getting on my nerves'.
Mrs Cole was unavailable for comment.
