In a move that registered 4.2 on the Richter Scale, longtime spoofer Skoob1999 has, without warning and for no reason apparent to anyone observing, changed the avatar he uses on the Discussion Forum at TheSpoof.com.
Instead of a cartoon man hunched up in a dark gray trenchcoat and sporting a fedora, Skoob now appears as a real person hunched up under a knit watch cap and sporting a walrus moustache.
This reporter obtained a sampling of reactions from fellow spoofers:
Bureau: "Oh my god! Skoob's changed his avatar!"
Charpa93: "Oh my god! Skoob's changed his avatar!"
Aubergine Underwood: "Oh my god! Skoob's changed his avatar!"
Jesus Budda: "You bastard!"
When asked for comment, Skoob simply said he likes the picture, though it was also broadly hinted that the change of avatar may also in some mystical way contribute to the cleanup of the BP oil spill and to the banning of vuvuzelas from Planet Earth.
Rumors that the photo has any power to alter the behavior of Miley Cyrus have not been substantiated.
