Strong speculation that Conservative party leader David Cameron is a late contestant in this years Celebrity Big Brother was today all but confirmed due to the Tory Leader Tweeting mysteriously that he was "off for a reality check" and he may be "bumping into the big brother".
Cameron, who hopes 2010 will be the year he become Prime Minister, has gone against the advice of his aides and will enter the house in the next few days. It is thought he believes entering the house will help him capture the nations heart and appeal to younger votes and grab the elusive "youth vote".
An insider reveals; "Dave believes that with the election looming he needs as much publicity as possible and what better way to achieve it then appearing 24 hours a day on one of the biggest shows in the country. He's desperate to be seen as a normal guy by the voting public and not the stuck up privately educated toff he is often portrayed as by the media."
Producers are said to be "ecstatic" by the news but have not give Cameron any special treatment. It is also thought that Cameron will be receiving a lower appearance fee then cage fighter Alex Reid and singer Dane Bowers.
An insider joked "He may soon be running the country but at the end of the day he's not slept with Jordan, which is the kind of thing the country's really bothered about!"
