HUNTINGTON, WV - Famed British chef, Jamie Oliver, is holding casting calls for a new reality show to be based in this West Virginia city that the Associated Press named "the fattest city in the US."
Filming has begun for the new show, and the celebrity chef, Oliver, was on hand at Huntington's recent Hot Dog Festival and Thursday's Rib Fest. Hand outs were distributed at both venues announcing that producers would meet with interested parties on Monday at the Marshall (University) Hall of Fame Café.
West Virginia leads the nation in the number of obese men and women, and also has the distinction of having the highest incidence of Type II diabetes in the US.
The fliers handed out by the show's reps said:
"You've read the papers and you've heard people talk about it, but how do you feel about what they're all saying? We want to hear all sides of the story. Are you willing to participate? Come tell us how you really feel."
"We don't giver shit what the Associated Press said about Huntington," said one porker, a woman weighing in at a hefty 423 pounds. "If there's gonna be free food, I want in!"
"Getting the fat fucks into a standard sized door will be a real problem," said the droll British cook.
