John Prescott has written a food book. "The Fat Bastards Guide To Junk Food" is a guide to some of the country's finest fast food producers. Prezza takes us on a tour of Kebab houses, Pizza parlors, Burger joints, Indian restaurants and Chinese takeaways. The former deputy prime minister shows genuine enthusiasm for his subject. The forward is by Lord Hattersley, who is the author of "Fatters Hatters".
Prescott is very proud of his book. "I did a great deal of research. I believe it's important to immerse yourself in your subject. Its been food, food, food for me."
Prescott was speaking at the official book launch lunch. Stavros Heartakis served large donna kebabs with all the extras, smothered in chilli sauce. Paramedics were on stanby should anybody have suffered cardiac arrest.
For Prescott what does the future hold? "Burp! I want to write about puddings next. Lots of 'em."
