It has been revealed today that Tory leader David Cameron was overjoyed when the 'emailgate' story broke to the press.
In a candid interview with our political reporter Ben Downing-Street David Cameron said "I am so glad all this has happened. Gordon Brown has had quite a good time of it recently what with positive outcomes from the G20 summit and signs of recovery in the stock markets."
Mr Cameron continued "We had nothing, no new suggestions or policy ideas at all so we more than welcomed the diversion."
In a recent poll carried out in my house of voting age people (2), 100% believed there were more important things to worry about than emails, which in todays e-society were pretty tame.
"That's a fair comment," said Mr Cameron, "however we will get as much mileage out of this as we can."
