Gordon Brown yesterday swapped gifts with Barak Obama as the PM prepared to fly home.
In the traditional ceremony Brown gave Barak a pen with penholder made from the timbers of the last slave ship in the UK, a signed copy of Winston Churchil's autobiography, a Turner oil painting, an Aston Martin DB9 special edition, a sterling silver "gentleman's moustache trimmer" from Snobson of St. James, a collection of gold sovereigns of all Britain's monarchs, a Carpetright 20% discount voucher and a copy of the book "The history of Prudence in Banking" by the Prime Minister himself.
Barak gave Brown a CD of the 50-Cent album "Nigger go shoot police", a 100-watt "bass box boomer" to go in the boot of Brown's Official car, a copy of Obama's book "My Struggle", a Star Trek DVD and 500 shares in A.I.G.
Declaring himself "delighted" with the gifts, one of Brown's aides was seen to go onto the Ebay website to see the value of the CD, DVD and bass boomer.
