A Ryanair employee is thinking of charging his wife £1 each time she uses the toilet in his house. He says the charge is necessary to keep down the cost of flushing.
The employee says he is also planning to introduce pay as you go charges for the postman - with a fee on each letter he pushes through the letterbox. An additional charge will be made if the door has to be answered to collect a parcel.
The Ryanair employee is taking a leaf out of his company's book by looking to impose fees on everything.
"I am looking into a coin-slot turnstile by the garden gate so people can pay to come to the house. They wear out the path and it costs money to maintain," he told us.
"I have also introduced charges on my answerphone for anyone wishing to talk to me. Before they get to talk to me they have to pay a fee by credit card for the number of minutes they need."
The man was criticised by regulars at his local pub, who object to being made to cough up £1 each time they want to speak to the man. "A conversation is getting very expensive," one said.
