Peter Mandelson announced in Parliament today that the government has given in to postal union pressure and will now provide more Vans as part of the Royal Mail sell off. This is seen as a major embarrassment to the Labour government who had been elected previously on a "no new Vans in Royal Mail" election pledge.
Talking to Ski News Peter Mandelson said "Due to pressure from the public and especially the postal workers union we now have an agreement with Dutch firm TNT who will provide all the Vans Royal Mail require".
TNT chairman Theo Boss later confirmed that Johan 'Van' Den Howe, Marco 'Van' Gogh and Ruud 'Van' Dyck would join Royal Mail some time next week.
Responding to the news Scouse Billy the leader of the postal union said "This is a common sense agreement in what was a diabolical attack on our members right to work with more Vans "Scouse Billy also confirmed that he and his elected National Executive looked forward to spending union members hard earned cash travelling to Amsterdam regularly meeting many more Vans.
