Postal workers have reacted with fury at plans to privatise the postal service and sell it off to foreigners. The Communication Workers Union has decided to ballot its members. However, there would appear to be some problems with the postal ballot as not all ballot forms have been delivered.
Dutch firm TNT are interested in running the postal service. Once they heard that bicycles were provided it was pretty much a done deal.
Meanwhile in Parliament Gordon Brown is facing a rebellion from within the government. He has called for Lord Mandelson to help him. Mandelson is no stranger to red boxes, posting it in the slot or emptying his sack.
Members of the public would not really mind who runs the service as long as their post gets delivered before it gets dark.
